A very nice story for the development of character and plot, getting to the slow reveal. Don’t know if I lke the change in POV, but I’m feeling benevolent enough to accept it here. Keep the good stuff coming!

There are a few things that sold me on this story. The first thing that grabbed me was the eloquence of the writing in the opening scene—it was sensual, but not graphic and course—something I’ve seen in too many pieces. Less is more. I also could sense, about halfway through, that something wasn’t quite right—I didn’t want to stop until I got there to find out what it was that was off. I thought perhaps it’d be a drug trip, at most, and so I was blown away by the twist at the end. And speaking of the end, it was crafted beautifully. Such a transition could have been confusing and left the reader going, ‘huh’? Rivard not only pulls it off, he does it well.
